Honestly, I don't know where the rampant disdain for this book comes from. I don't like pulling this card, but perhaps the fact that I live in Silicon Valley makes the plot seem wayy less over the top than it probably comes across to most people. Which scares the shit out of me. This book. Scared. The Shit. Out of me. Gaddayum. Like 1984-level scared. Really, anyone in this area owes it to themselves to read it, if for no other reason than to have an impetus to question what Google, Facebook, etc. are really heading towards. Feel free to call me a tinfoil-hatter.
