My Favourite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren

2.0

I've had this on my TBR for a long time (along with some other Christina Lauren books) but finally got the chance to pick up a copy at the library to give it a go. And unfortunately after a long wait I was disappointed by this book.
The story was very quick, especially at the beginning, but the actual story development was barely there, there wasn't enough progression in the plot or characters. The characters in the friendship group were very stereotypical, still enjoyable to read but there was no creativity, they just felt like cardboard cut-outs. I didn't vibe with Millie or Reid to be honest as main characters. Their respective backgrounds were also very weak.
The main issue I had with the book is the deceit - I really disliked that this was the premise of the story as well as the love triangles and jealousy.
I enjoyed the mixed media writing style, this meant that the book was actually a lot shorter than a typical 380 page book and was very fast paced. I also liked the dual POV between Reid and Millie.
I do have some other books by Christina Lauren on my TBR so I'm hoping it's only up from here.
