I do have to start with saying I have never read or seen the original Romeo and Juliet so I will be judging this as a book on it's own and not so much it being a retelling of that classic.
I did really enjoy this book though and it was a good fun read. I enjoyed the big plotpoint of the mysterious deaths and the chase to finding the answers to it. It was an enjoyable mystery to see solved that brought a good amount of fighting scenes to the book that were full of tension.
The romance was great too and it made me feel good happy flutters in my chest. I loved how the book gave the POV of Roma too which added a lot to my feelings. Juliet as main character had a lot of depth and different aspects of her kept clashing in a great way to read. The internal struggle both had because of this romance was put on paper really well and made me yearn so bad for them to come together asap.
