Kind of a standalone sequel to the Peripheral. Again, alternates between Will Netheron's point of view and someone in a fragment. Will has been hired by Lowbeer to help this fragment, but doesn't seem like Will is earning his pay. He basically just pops in and out of the fragment, observing the going ons passively while other actors are much more active. Verity, the other view point, is also quite passive spending almost half the novel just being shuttled around by allies for her own protection, with nary an idea of the end of goal. Still, I enjoyed the short chapters and there was interesting action, even if neither of the "protagonists" really did much.
