I enjoyed this book for sure. It was quick read once you get into it which made it easy to finish. It’s perfect to read while drinking tea or some fancy shit idk.
I enjoyed the representation of women in the book and to be honest the queer aspect was tastefully done. The writing was interesting to say the least. I don’t like a bunch of description but it’s definitely for some people. Let me tell you, this book was overly descriptive. “Smiling, I picked my way between the perky morning glories and swaying stargazers to the porch, settling beside her to the whining protest of the spring”. What the fuck does that even mean? Even in context, it is so jumbled with the writer trying to be as descriptive as she can be. The turned me off so much from enjoying it!!! I also understand it’s supposed to be a witchy book but the actual witchy references are terribly written. Also the weird gen z slang thrown in is so odd? It pisses me off just to see a random ‘dope’ or ‘fam’ or ‘wack’. The reference to Billie Eilish was so out of place it made the whole chapter terrible for me. Anyway, it sucked.
