The Club of Queer Trades by G.K. Chesterton

What a remarkable little collection of stories! Loosely connected, each with its own minor characters, with a heavy Sherlock Holmes influence. Although, that influence is simply that. Basil Grant has his own powers of deduction that border on extrasensory perception at times. Easily read and enjoyable to boot! Rupert Grant is lovely as the frustrated and exasperated younger brother cum junior detective type. There were several times I found myself chuckling over his "hair-pulling exclamatories."
