Snow Blind by P.J. Tracy

5.0

Snow Blind has a very different feel than the first three Monkeewrench mysteries. Although different, I liked it just as much as the previous three.

Because Snow Blind is so different, I am hesitant to mention much about it. Like the others, there is a new couple of characters. For reasons that escape me, Iris Rikker, an English teacher, finds herself working as a telephone operator at a far north Minnesota police department. For reasons I will not share here, she decides to run for Sheriff and wins. For the most part and for obvious reasons, the police department is not fully behind the English teacher Sheriff. The other new character is a detective lieutenant Sampson.

There is a review here that gives this book only one star, partially for the same reason I gave it five.

Unlike so many books of this genera, it challenges the reader to considerable introspection; at least is did me. I recommend this book very highly.
