Gillian Flynn has such a special talent for writing "female villains" & complex women that I haven't seen anywhere else. Before reading this I had only seen the film adaptations of "Gone Girl" & "Dark Places" which I loved, so this is the first time I have actually read her work. It kept me guessing the whole time & she is pretty much an automatic buy at this point.
