Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

4.0

Received an ARC of Just for the Summer from Netgalley.

I found this newest release by Abby Jimenez to be not only hilarious but also extremely sweet and empathetic. I laughed out loud so many times!

Justin's character was one of my favorite heroes written by the author. I loved every single side of his personality and how much of a truly good human he was. I struggled with Emma's character about halfway through the book when her past and internal struggles started to be outlined more. I had a hard time relating to her character and the choices she made and why. I know the author put a lot of effort into addressing the mental health struggles of both characters, but there was just something about the way that Emma's coping techniques were described that rubbed me the wrong way as a reader. 75% of her character development I did enjoy though!

The ending of the book was lovely, but also a little abrupt. I didn't expect it to wrap up the way it did in such a short amount of time. It felt a little rushed and easy.

The cameos by other characters from past books was really fun and brought together so many webs that I didn't even know existed!

Solid 4 out of 5 stars for Just for the Summer!
