Mrs. Quinn's Rise to Fame by Olivia Ford

4.0

This book follows 77-year-old Jenny Quinn who secretly applies for a role on the hit TV show Britain Bakes...and her rise to fame that follows.  I fell hard for this cozy read that is so full of heart.  One lesson that resonated with me over and over again as I read was that recipes aren't just recipes...they're passed down through generations, steeped in memory so acute sometimes that you can hear your great grandmother's laughter as you roll out her pie crust or see you mother's time-worn hands as you knead the dough for the bread recipe she made time and again in your youth. Cue the warm fuzzies.  ⁣

This book should come with a warning label, however:  May Cause Insatiable Cravings & Impromptu Baking.
