Patchett is such a great storyteller and character writer.
This book hooked me from the beginning and I loved it. The fact that it’s a mother telling her 3 daughters a story from a summer in her life, immediately made me think of my grandmother and aunts. I could go on raving about this book but I’ll say this: I will be buying a copy of this for my grandmother for Christmas and I’ll be recommending it to my family and friends for years to come.
