Becoming by Michelle Obama

Unabashedly wept reading this on the metro. A stunningly evocative and well-written memoir by a brilliant, inspirational woman. The book is divided into three sections, with the first about her childhood, the second about her meeting Barack, and the third about the presidency. The first two sections were most powerful for me because you could see how her experiences shaped her, and those experiences are likely more relatable to most readers. However, tales from behind the scenes in the White House are always fascinating so the third section is quite good as well. This is one book that was not at all over-hyped.
