Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple

5.0

This book was recommended to me over and over again by Audible. That is usually a sign that I should stay far, far away from a book but in this case I caved and downloaded it. I was not disappointed in the least.

From the get go, I was hooked. The voice of the narrator was so familiar I had to look her up on IMDB. Kathleen Wilhoite was the perfect choice to give voice to Bernadette and her daughter B.

This book is basically a novel in letters, emails, post-it notes, and some of B’s interjections. The first half of the book is a laugh riot that had me snorting and crying. Then it takes a turn and is not so funny but still a great story coming back to a great wrap up.
