I’ve heard that MZ is the queen of slow burns from the romance podcast I can’t think of right now….

I listened to this on audio and I found myself wanting to prioritize it over anything else. I was antsy to finish tasks/work to get back to listening to it. Childhood crush to enemies to friends to BEST friends to lovers, what a RIDE. I loved the “age gap”, we love a more mature man. Great grumpy/sunshine trope. He hates everyone but her, GREAT.

And while I UNDERSTAND that it’s meant to be a slow burn, and the small amount of spicy scenes we got were fine, I just felt a bit underwhelmed/let down with the conclusion. I was ready to make this a part of my personality and demand to be called schnecke by everyone I know, lol. But it just felt okay. The first 80% of the book was 4 stars for me but the ending made it just 3. Which is still good!
