Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

The book hangover I'm having from this series, seriously. I've been talking about Hell Bent and Ninth House to my friends for days. Hell Bent is the 2nd in the Alex Stern series, I'm not sure if it's just a duology but man this book sucked me into the world like a demon portal.
Alex is starting her 2nd year at Yale and is determined to rescue her friend and mentor Darlington from Hell.
I read this book in 3 formats because I was so sucked into it I had to keep listening/reading. Hurray for the library because I listened to it in my car (on Libby), read it on my kindle app when I was at places I could read, and bought a hard copy to read when I was at home.
This 2nd book takes you deep into how a person can deal with grief, guilt, hopelessness, and emotional vampires/demons. How sharing your trauma can create bonds, and families you chose can change or save your life.
Trigger warnings for mentions of sexual assault, violence, and un-aliving. No spice but there is mention of demon nudity and arousal.
