the witch doesn't burn in this one by Amanda Lovelace

DNF at 26%. I just can't with this one anymore. Maybe it doesn't help that I was listening to the audiobook (and let me tell you, this was not a great first foray into audiobooks), but I just...didn't like any of this? Maybe it would have been better if I read it, but even then, sometimes the way Lovelace wrote about certain themes bothered me. And while I appreciate when authors read their own work for audiobooks, something about the way Lovelace read it was grating to my ears. It wasn't worth continuing. Which is a shame. I'd heard such good things about these books. I think Lovelace brings attention to very real and important subjects, but the way she executed it simply didn't work for me.
But let's also be honest. When I DNF'd it, I was very annoyed. So maybe it wasn't for me, and that's fine. But I'm not going to sugarcoat it; I really didn't like any of this. I'm great with unpopular opinions though, so I suppose this is only fitting.
What a way to kick my reading month off, right?
