A Boy Made of Blocks by Keith Stuart
5.0
As a parent with a child and a brother on the spectrum, this book was everything. It was so familiar - leaving nothing out, the good, the bad and the challenging that come with Autism but underneath it all, our children are our greatest gifts.
I laughed, I cried, I agreed, I commiserated, I cheered. I was the parent within the pages, sometimes I actually AM, and that’s what makes this book amazing. It is fiction, but fiction based on real, stark, harsh but beautiful life.
I made the best decision when I decided to pick up this book. I started it with a sense of dread and what if, but finished with a giant smile on my face.
