Letter to My Daughter by Maya Angelou
emotional
reflective
medium-paced
4.25
Overall I enjoyed this book. There were some words of wisdom, a lot of reflection, and a bit more Christianity then I expected. It is interesting to read the works of someone who so often questions religion and agrees with the values I do, but lands on being Christian. There is something uniquely beautiful and different about Christians who actually exemplify a Christ like attuited. There is also something very different when it comes to Black Christianity then you get in White Christianity. It is such a messy and hard history that has resulted in those differences. But in the end, I appreciate Angelou's thoughts and reflections and appreciate her sharing with "all the daughters".
Moderate: Domestic abuse, Emotional abuse, Physical abuse, Sexual violence, and Toxic relationship
