Worthy of Fate is the first book in The Realms of Peril series and one of those books that instantly becomes a favourite. If your looking for a dark fantasy romance with a strong stabby fmc, a ‘shadow daddy’ mmc exceptional world building and magic system and the start of a delicious tension filled romance with spice then make sure to add this book to your tbr!
From the beginning this book instantly pulls you in and captures your attention. The writing is so descriptive and gives a clear picture of the world that is being created as well as the characters and monsters.
The first 40% of the story centres around the world building and introducing Kyra and the trials she finds herself facing while it might start a little slower for me personally i didn’t find it a problem as the way the author pulls you in and keeps you engaged makes it worth while for the character and world building.
I loved the start of Ryker and Kyra’s relationship it gives so much angst and tension and pays off beautifully with some really well written spice.
One thing I really liked is how as a reader you feel like you are taken along on the journey as the characters try to solve the riddles they are being given. It does end on a rather brutal cliffhanger which makes me so excited for book two.
Thank you so much to the author for the opportunity to read an arc I’m looking forward to see what comes next!
