Typical teen book where the ignored girl is suddenly the chosen one. She's shot to popularity with 2 boys and one teacher (eww) mooning over her.

That being said, the overarching ideas about how teens become vamps, how the vamps worship the Goddess Nyx, and how something is turning the teen vamps into zombie-like creatures keeps the book interesting. If you can ignore some of the dumb teen drama, it's not bad.
