The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
4.0
I finished this beauty tonight. If you’re looking for a bit of a feel good story, this is it. Prior to reading, I heard only good things about it. I was not disappointed. I enjoyed Klune’s writing. It’s accessible without being cliche or juvenile. Even more, I found myself relating to just about every character in the book in some way. Maybe not as much with the miserable authority figures at DICOMY, but definitely the others. I was a bit conflicted about how easy most things seemed to be, and how much things work out, but I appreciate that Klune didn’t fall victim to some of the standard tropes and formulas. I’m looking forward to his next book in September.
