DNF @ 44%

The spice has been good so far, but plot is honestly a mess. 

The transition between chapters is rough and completely disruptive to the flow of the book. 

There’s also a random 1 yr jump where this couple is supposed to have developed their relationship but we don’t get to see any of that. It’s just them meeting then bam they’ve been in a relationship with a D/S dynamic for a year. Most interactions occur off page. 

I skimmed towards the end to see if I would be missing out, and it seems this is/was supposed to be book 1 in a series? There was a November 2023 date for book 2 listed at the end of this one, but it’s now September 2024 and there’s zero mention of a continuation of the series on the authors socials, goodreads, amazon, anywhere.  

The overall plot that I got through, even with peeking at the last few chapters,  doesn’t make a ton of sense and I’m not quite sure where it’s supposed to go in terms of a series so tbh I’m especially glad for the DNF since this ends on a cliffhanger of sorts and book 2 may or may not be a thing.
