After House of Hollow, I should have known to expect a horror story, but the blurb made me think this was a bit more magical mystery. Nope, it's a story of soul bargains, gruesome consequences, violence against women and the entitlement of the privileged. I thought the whole demon tethering thing was different, and I overall enjoyed it a lot. I think she's best at writing the damaged rich kids than the others though.
