I took my time reading this short story collection by Lesley Nneka Arimah. I broke it up by reading the stories between finishing and starting novels, but I think it would have worked just as well if I'd read it all in one shot. Arimah does a great job keeping this book from being one-note. She switches easily from contemporary to fantasy and sci-fi. I came to this by way of the "LeVar Burton Reads" podcast which performed the title story from the collection (I've listened to LeVar Burton's reading of "What it Means When a Man Falls From the Sky" at least three or four times). I can't praise this collection enough. Glad to have found Arimah's work, and I'm looking forward to reading more from her in the years to come.
