The Book of Two Ways by Jodi Picoult
3.0
Still processing this book. So many things I loved about this book. Dawn, the main character, and her relationships with her mother, her brother, Brian, Wyatt and her daughter. I loved reading about her first love of Egyptomology. (Who knew there was such a thing?)
I was so intrigued by her profession as a Death Doula. A beautiful way of helping people deal with death.
And of course, the love triangle was really good.
But.....I struggled to hang with this book. The details of Egypt and digs and hieroglyphics.....kind of wore me out. Brian and his love explained as a neuro physicist. Half the time I didn’t even know what he was saying.
There was just so much going on.
And the timeline.....I know now. But it felt very confusing.
I am glad I stuck it out. Because it is a good story. But....there is no good way for this book to end.
And I kind of feel cheated!
