This story struck the perfect balance of romantic tension, mysterious/hidden information, and sub plot. That is what I enjoyed most about this book. The chemistry and magnetism of fated mates, with the relationship development that always you to connect, and a plot that is intriguing without being overly complex. It was absolutely brilliant. Isolda is a fascinating and complex character without the usual altruistic or martyr complex. She is real and a good representation of the complexity of humanity. Adrian is the perfect combination of bad boy, heartbroken lover, and unapologetic monster. This is exactly the kind of fantasy story I have been looking for.
