Leo owns the local florist. He is a gentle giant covered in tattoos who doesn't people well and works too much. One day, he noticed that a new bookstore was opening down the road from his shop and his caring, but albeit meddling employee/friend Emily encourages him to take a bouquet of flowers to welcome the owner. Enter Jay, he has spent the past year starting his life over after his longterm relationship broke down, he is stressed and anxious about opening his own business and tends to anxiously ramble but Leo finds that and Jay completely adorable and these two slowly form a friendship that develops into more.

This was a cute, low angst, sweet & nerdy read. I loved the incorporation of DnD, bookish chats, and mentions of cosplay, etc. The side characters were all endearing, and Edward, Jay's best friend, is a character I'm really looking forward to reading more of in his book. I loved Leo's use of flowers and their meanings throughout this story, the third act conflict seemed to fall a tad on the ridiculous side but then again anxiety and self pressure aren't usually rational. I felt my attention waning towards the end a bit, and it felt a bit rushed. Overall, I liked this book and had a good time reading it, some good humour and spice, great nerdy representation, a cute little furbaby, engaging side characters, and two likeable MMCs. However personally I would have liked a bit more depth to the angst/conflict than we got as I would have felt more invested in their HEA, but if you're looking for a quick, cosy read this will deliver. 🌶🌶
