The Ice Palace by Tarjei Vesaas
4.0
Finally, I got around to reading this. I wanted to read it whilst I was in Norway, but I ended up reading Paradise Rot instead. This book was written. Almost like a large poem and was filled with so many symbols and metaphors, I felt like I could reread it again and have a whole new outlook on the book. This book details loss and navigating death and grief at a young age, and without going into too much detail the "ice palace" could be perceived as a physical space, spiritual space, metaphor or mental space depending on your view. I really did enjoy this book. I found I enjoyed it even more and appreciated it more after reading other reviews which gave me the ability to look beyond the surface of this book.
