The romance was kinda boring, which is distressing for a book that reads like a mediocre fanfic... It started too quickly but also burned out in weird places.

World building feels flimsy and shallow. Character motivations are surface level, though there is an occasional surprising depth that shows vague knowledge of how to tell an interesting story.

Also, Persephone is annoying and  judgemental. I know that's supposed to be
her arc,
but she just always manages to make things about herself and not in a fun quirky way. It's just so frustrating to watch her cause train wrecks in her relationships when she doesn't have all the facts, even though it is so clear that
hades is actually the good guy and her mother is literally a shallower mother gothel.
