Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

5.0

How is it possible to like the second book in a series more than the first?
This book has officially moved this series to my favourites stack, and I know I should wait until I read the whole series to make me final decision, but SHH! I'm gushing and I'll do what I want.

There was so much action in this book, it was fast paced and at one point I got so involved in the story that I threw the book onto the floor in a fit of rage at something a character did. (the floor was carpeted, the book is fine.)

I LOVED the new characters, Marissa is pretty much a character writing goddess, because it took me 0.2 seconds to fall in love with Thorne. He was so funny and such a ladies man, at times I found myself rolling my eyes at things he said, all I want is for him to be safe and happy!
Also can we all take a moment to laugh at how much he loves his ship?

I again loved Wolf and yes I'll admit I have a thing for 'bad boys', but he is just so precious, sweet and could rip your throat out... I mean his cute.
I had my moments where I wasn't too crazy about Scarlet but all in all she is strong, smart and I'm hoping to see more character development as I read on.
Also... I totally ship Wolf and Scarlet, I know many people don't but I just feel the weird connection there.

I am so excited to start Cress and keep going with this series! It's slowly becoming one of my favourites.
