Kill the Old, Torture the Young by David Harrower
5.0
4.5, rounded up.
This early work by the consummate Scottish playwright very much reminded me, in both structure and themes, of the film 'Magnolia'. It has that same diffuse quality, following myriad diverse characters in interconnecting stories, all with a wistful melancholy about how people fail to make those connections for which they so long. It's sadly not performed a lot, I suspect, but certainly should be.
