Oh man, I love grumpy bears!! This is great start to the series, which is sure to be a must buy!

Reid is deliciously Alpha and cluelessly male! He tries to fight the attraction, some silly shifter human no-no nonsense. Thank fully he just can not resist sassy curvy gal Tammy. I love their banter and the whole dynamic they share. Beware frying pans! LOL

The love comes fast here, but it is a true mates kind of thing, so I guess I buy into it. I can see it growing from the affection that is apparent and the combustible chemistry they share. There is plenty of hawt and heavy steam to get your engines revved!! Have a bowl of ice cream, a cold shower or your fella handy! Whoa mamma, things are definitely detailed and smexy!

The narrative is mixed giving you the POV of the leads as well as the bad guy. I am not sure about how awful he really is, something that might show itself later in the series. The side plot is a bit murky. I could see where things were headed, but they were too vague at times. I expect that is to keep suspense for things to come. I did enjoy the plot and the get together for the couple, it was just too short. I wanted more of the build for the resolution, maybe later.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Chandra Skyye, who was fabulous. I loved her energy through the read and the life she gave the characters. Her tone was perfect for delivering the snappy snarky dialogue. She kept the men just gruff enough to be real without going into the realm of caricature. Her pace is nice if you like to listen at regular speed, I like to punch things up to double, where things are still enjoyable. I will definitely be looking for more of her reads and hope she stays with the series.

I am so very thrilled to see this author in audio, because I really miss reading her books! I wish I had more ebook time, but now I only have to worry about how fast they will be recorded!

*** I hope this review was useful to you and helped your decision to read or not read this book. I love reading and sharing my opinions with other readers. I listen at double speed; all my impressions of the narration are from that setting. Thanks for taking the time to read my review!
