There is a lot of philosophy in this book, but it is wrapped into a great story with wonderful character development and interaction. It's science fiction in our very real world. It certainly grabbed me right away and kept me interested. First contact with an effort toward peace rather than war and a nice romance thrown in. Some brilliant plot twists and logic.
