A wholly unique take on Sleeping Beauty! This story has a feisty heroine, a martyr-like hero, kingdoms on the brink of war, and magic based on arcana. I loved the themes of belonging and finding yourself echoed throughout the novel’s pages.
I’m amazed at how much world building was packed into the novel’s 250 pages. The three kingdoms, the magic system, the relationships between the characters - it was all seamlessly done. My only complaint is wanting more of it - more of the lore, more depth to the character’s relationships, and more exploration of the realm. This story gave me just enough to keep me invested, but I still have so many questions. I’m excited to see where the story goes in future books!
Thank you to Erin Archer for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
