Hunting November by Adriana Mather
4.0
I was not disappointed with this sequel, not disappointed at all. In fact, I would be eager to read more entries in this world.
What I liked:
- Writing. As with Killing November, the writing was excellent and easy to read and engaging. It wasn't difficult to fall back into the story.
- Pace. I also enjoyed that the plot did progress with this book and the pacing was solid - I couldn't book this book down.
- Characters. I'm glad we still got a healthy dose of character development and I thought the secondary characters were pretty well serviced also. spoiler:
-Ash. That's it.
So why not 5 stars? Well, while I did enjoy the pacing and the plot progression I do think the stakes were much much lower it this book so there wasn't as much tension. Whereas in the first book I was tied up in knots. Finally I did feel the ending was very.....convenient, or too neat, or something while also still leaving some unanswered questions.
I enjoyed this a lot.

I was a little concerned that we would lose some of this richness with November leaving the academy but nope we still gt some interactions albeit not as much.-Ash. That's it.

There were moments of real peril and danger in book 1, but I never really had any doubts that November would make it through. I thought potentially something would happen to Ash, and I'm grateful it didn't, but yeah no stakes.I enjoyed this a lot.
