Death Comes to Marlow by Robert Thorogood
3.0
Death Comes to Marlow is the book #2 in the Marlow Murder Club series and I read the first book last year. It's been a long time coming picking up the second book but I was instantly back in Judith's world again, with her companions Suzie and Becks. I love the core characters in this series, it is definitely what makes the cosy mystery genre as popular as it is. There is also some Dobermann representation in this series which always brings a smile to my face.
The murder mystery in Death Comes to Marlow was pretty intricate and intriguing with a locked door style murder and all of the suspects seemingly having strong alibis. Unfortunately I did guess one of the big twists, as although unusual, it was pretty obvious to me and I'm disappointed to have been able to guess the mystery.
For me it wasn't as strong as the first book in the series but I am looking forward to the third book, The Queen of Poisons, which is due to be published in January 2024.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5
