Maaannnnnn Khia you did it again. Girl you had me stressed. I literally finished the book in the car before going in my home and when i say the ending had me slumped. Completely drained of emotions in the best way. This is how you tell a story. And baby those courtroom scenes are absolutely superior.
Khia will have you not knowing who or what to believe. The book is written and paced so well that you’ll be completely taken in from jump. Leila did what she had to do for her sister and her because being together was more important. Making sure to have a good life was necessary and Yasmin was completely ungrateful. I feel no matter if Leila took guardianship or put Yasmin in the system Yas would have found a way to make it Leila’s fault. Khia wrote Yasmin so good because there’s nothing about her i like. Also this is the prime example of bending backwards for someone and they’ll still give you their back.
Listened in hoopla.
