The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jimenez

5.0

The storytelling in this book is bitingly clever, somehow mixing third, second, and first person without it seeming umweildy at all. The lines that gave this book its name made me explode into a thousand pieces. The prose is written beautifully, the narrative is woven together masterfully, the characters are rich and alive and gorgeous. The dedication reads "This one's for me." What a book. Please read it.
