I.V. Poems by Lucy J. Madison
3.0
“Whatever I might tell you tonight
about how well I am or how calm,
don’t believe me. Even if I speak of the
thick black sky and the moon skidding across it,
don’t believe me.
Because I can close my eyes and
will my voice to flow soft and clear,
velvety even.
You cannot know I sob in the shower
unraveled and on
my knees.”
This book is just a collection of Madison’s poems. They don’t really have a particular theme. What I really noticed is the vivid description of the setting of each potm. It’s admirable. It made me feel like I should also delve into learning how to stitch my words into something as such.
