This would be a hyped story that I really wanted to enjoy but also the cover is stunning!! I think the pacing or inconsistencies is what did it for me. It’s a much slower paced magical realism story, with a hint of a mysterious component but I wasn’t really invested in anything except the magical elements. I thought we were following the mystery of the missing girls (heck we might still be). Then there was a wedding and I’m like uhhh but there’s girls missing? And then there multiple characters were following and I kept getting them confused. This one just didn’t quite work for me and I wish it had because the writing is really well don’t, just the story and the plots was just too much for me to truly focus on.
