Wow, okay... this definitely took a very dark turn. Still very much an addictive read, but incredibly uncomfortable (and at times cringy) to get through. I have to say that this cliffhanger was less infuriating than the one in the first book. The reasons I cannot rate this book more highly were Jamie's apparent lack of care for his mother during her recovery, the restrictive eating and the scene in the corner store (if you know, you know).
