my first stephen king book ever and i am beyond speechless. this book was just GOOD from start to finish, and i couldn’t find a single flaw.

the characters were amazing, all so unique on their own yet they fit together like pieces of a puzzle shaping the town. i also loved the heavy influence of stoker’s dracula and the elements of southern gothic.

the ending couldn’t have been more perfect. it really closed the story as if it tied a ribbon around the book itself, leaving you satisfied and grateful to have gone on this journey with characters you learned to love so quickly (well, obviously not all of them; i’m looking at you ann norton). speaking of which, ben mears has got to be the hottest character i’ve ever met in a book.

i see why king says this is his favorite book, it’s just amazing! i will be thinking about this for a long time.
