Blood Like Fate by Liselle Sambury
4.0
Blood Like Fate was what I expected Blood Like Magic to be. This book had an amazing plot like the first one, but the execution was so much better. Liselle Sambury crafts this story with better pacing, character development, and depth. This is exactly what a conclusion to a fantasy series should and I’m really happy that Sambury was able to create something that held up to her vision. I love how this book immediately starts off with the main character, Voya, trying to reconcile with how her life has changed from how the first book ended. Grief is such a big factor in this book and it’s not just the first few chapters it’s the entirety of this story and I loved it. It felt very real and there was an undertone of sadness throughout this story that was done very well. There were so many different, complex relationships between the different witch families and within the Thomas family after Voya became matriarch and there were all fleshed out very well. My only gripe with this book was the romance and it’s that I wanted more. Voya and Luc were very up and down and this book, but I wanted their relationship to have more depth. This was an amazing sequel and exceeded my expectations.
