The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden by Jonas Jonasson

4.0

Really witty with plenty of details that circled back for payoffs. Several of the plot points are ridiculously beyond the line of suspended belief, but ridiculousness is the goal. The author expertly weaves contemporary, real life characters into the plot, while obviously fictionalizing the character.
I listened to this in English, but hope to read another book by the author (The 100 Year Old Man...) in Swedish, once my language skills are up to the task. The reader is an excellent voice actor. The American accent was passable, and the few lines that remained in Swedish were understandably pronounced. The white South African accent and Mandela’s distinct accent were discernible to my American ear.
