メイドインアビス 9 by Akihito Tsukushi

...ok. Um. I...I don't know. I'm not going to give up on this series. I will say this: you need to prepare to read this...the gore, oh my god the CARNAGE, Tsukushi's sexualization of young female characters (a problem with manga outside of him, but the point still stands), and other such things. I wouldn't be surprised if the animators dropped the project purposefully so they didn't have to animate this arc and forward.
The lore is beyond fascinating. The art is incredible. I've fallen in love with the story, its themes of fate, and especially value (who defines it, how much of it is within us, how much is projected, how to 'balance' the value of someone how has stolen something of higher value than themselves...fascinating, truly.)
I'm stubborn. I won't give it up, yet...but I understand why many would throw in the towel after this one.
