The Art of War for Writers: Fiction Writing Strategies, Tactics, and Exercises by James Scott Bell

5.0

Yes, it took me over a month to read this. I read it when I needed inspiration or direction. I dog-eared and post-it noted so many pages. This is a manual for the serious writer with how-to and advice on every aspect of the writing career. This is a book I will carry around with me and refer back to over and over throughout my career.

The Art of War for Writers is like having your own personal writing coach at your beck and call. Feeling rejected? There's advice on how to handle that. Should you get an agent or go it alone? There's a page --or three -- for that. Not sure about POV? Yup, he's got you covered.

If you are serious about the craft and about having a long-term career as a writer, this book should be in your writing space.
