The Women by Kristin Hannah

5.0

I get why everyone is loving this boo! This book should be on everyone’s list for book club. I think it’s a great subject and can lead to many in depth conversations. The Women by Kristin Hannah is a heartbreaking, emotional, life changing story of the unsung heros who were involved in the Vietnam war. Those hero’s in this story are mainly the women that caught along side the soldiers typically as nurses or there were other positions that they handled and were just as involved in fighting the fight. I have so much respect for the amount of time and researched involved in trying to document this story.
I adore Kristin Hannah’s stories as they find a way to transport you to a previous time period and you feel immersed into the story. This book is done in two parts: during the war and then after the war. Each part is amazing to capture the emotions and experiences that happened to Frankie during that time. I liked Frankie as a character and felt changed just as she was experiencing these things in her life.
