One of the strangest books I've read so far this year. Part one reads like Dostoevsky's [b:Notes from Underground|17876|Notes from Underground|Fyodor Dostoyevsky|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1411241656s/17876.jpg|19376] but with more modernist and sometimes experimental prose. In part two the book suddenly goes off the rails and almost delves into the surreal. We go from the coldness and industrialisation of early Soviet life in part one to strange magical realism centred around an ambiguous kind of Doomsday device.

A strange and unique book, check it out if you get the chance.
