An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green
5.0
If you ask me about my preferred genre of reading, my answer isn't going to include any part of sci-fi (maybe my least favorite genre) or YA (I'm really choosy about YA). But somehow this book pleased me in ways I didn't expect.
On the surface, it's the story of a young woman who becomes famous when she discovers these maybe-alien creatures. But it's much more about the trappings of fame, how we treat those around us, and our response to situations we don't understand.
4.75* - I'm deducting .25 because I really hate it when a book seems finished only to drop the "haha, buy the sequel!" bombshell on the very last page.
