Clearly, I read this to get ready for the television show. I really didnโt know what I was getting into. And the fact that itโs not a romance definitely had me questioning my sanity. But the show is getting a lot of airtime already so I figured Iโd give my little book community my thoughts on a book that already has almost a million ratings.

๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ป๐ผ๐ฝ๐๐ถ๐: The book follows Daisy Jones, Billy Dunne and the other members of The Six as they rise to fame in the 60s and 70s.
๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐: Just because I am who I am and I write the reviews I write, let me say thisโฆ this is not a romance. Thereโs some aspect of romance, but itโs definitely not a romance. Thereโs no spice, no cute moments, just a whole lot of tension drugs and rock nโ roll.
That being said, Daisy Jones & The Six was a well written mainstream book. I loved it in the way I love Gone Girl and Where the Crawdads Sing. I can absolutely see why itโs so popular. I can absolutely see how itโs easily going to be adapted into a show. And it made me feel something, which is the hallmark of a five-star rated book.
The book is written like an interview transcript. Each character tells their own version of the story. In doing so, they create their own characters and journeys. I loved how no one remembered events exactly the same. I did end up loving the other character stories. And I thought it was so well done for being under 350 pages.
I have to say, Iโm excited for the show. Iโm probably going to watch when all the episodes are aired, so I can binge. But I have no doubts at all that itโs going to be one of the great book-to-big screen adaptations.
